Claire graduated from McMaster University with her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy after completing her Bachelor of Health Sciences from Carleton University.
Throughout her academic career Claire has developed a holistic, trauma-informed, and client-centred approach to care. She has experience working with children, youth, and adults in a variety of settings including supportive employment, outpatient mental health, and school-based pediatrics. Claire believes in the power of participation in meaningful activities and takes a collaborative approach to supporting clients in reaching their goals.
Claire strives to practice in a way that is neuroaffirming, leveraging clients’ unique strengths and abilities to promote participation. She is also passionate about supporting mental health and wellness in all clients with or without mental health diagnoses. Claire has particular interest in working on school-based goals, vocational goals, self-regulation, routine-building, and mental health promotion with clients. She takes an individual approach to sessions incorporating clients’ interests and strengths to foster connection, motivation, and enjoyment of the therapeutic process.
Outside of practicing as an occupational therapist, Claire enjoys baking, trying new restaurants around Ottawa, and staying active by running and going for walks with her dogs.
