Expanding Horizons Occupational Therapy provides occupational therapy services to clients living in Ottawa and surrounding areas. Occupational therapy assessment and intervention can be provided to children and youth in either English or French.

Meg Topolnisky, B.A., MScOT Reg. (Ont.), Psychotherapist

Meg is the founder of Expanding Horizons and has many years of experience working with children and youth. She strives to enable children to reach their full potential in life, school, and play.

Mark Topolnisky, Co-Owner

Mark is the co-owner of Expanding Horizons Occupational Therapy. He brings many years of experience from a hospital based setting in addition to completing psychometry in private practice.

Sivah, Certified Therapy Dog & CEO

Sivah is an eleven year old Labrador Retriever. She is mild mannered and loves to participate in OT sessions. She is great at reading social cues and adapts her approach to meet the needs of every individual. For some, using a pet can be very therapeutic!!

Jeanette McNalty, BSc MScOT Reg. (Ont.)

Jeanette graduated from Queen’s University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2009. She completed her undergraduate studies at Brock University, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Health Science in 2007.

Carolyn Powell (Hall), BScHK, MScOT Reg. (Ont.)

Carolyn is an enthusiastic OT working with children and youth in the community, schools and mental health settings. Her interests include fine-motor assessment and teaching self-regulation strategies.

Lauren Evans, BScKin, MScOT Reg. (Ont.)

Lauren is a passionate & hardworking OT whose positive attitude & inquisitive personality aid her in harnessing new skills & honing her expertise. She has a special interest in working with children and youth in the areas of sensory processing, sensory regulation and fine and gross motor skills.

Stéphanie Bérubé, MHScOT Reg. (Ont.), B.A.

Stéphanie is a graduate from the University of Ottawa offering OT services in both English and French. She is especially interested in child and youth mental health, self-regulation as well as sensory processing.

Sydney Stewart, B.A., MScOT Reg. (Ont.)

Sydney has experience working with infants, children, youth, and adults in hospital, clinical, community, and school-based settings. Sydney is committed to providing family-centered care and implementing evidence-based practice into her treatment approaches.

Barri Trager BSc, MScOT, OT Reg. (Ont.)

Barri was born and raised in Toronto. She graduated from Queen’s University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2009. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion at Dalhousie University in 2006.

Catherine Cullwick, B.P.H.E., MHScOT Reg.(Ont.)

Catherine is a passionate OT who has an interest in working with children and youth in a school care and mental health setting. She also has experience working with adults with mental health needs.

Courtney Barton, B.A., MScOT Reg. (Ont.)

Courtney is a graduate from Queen’s University with a special interest in paediatrics. She utilizes her creativity to assist children in their daily life activities. She looks forward to increasing her expertise in working with children.

Emilie Scott, BScHK, BEd, MScOT. Reg.(Ont.)

Emilie has experience working in a school setting with students from kindergarten to grade 12, with a wide variety of diagnoses and abilities. She loves working with children and youth in areas of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, self-regulation, mental health and sensory processing.

Alyssa Bergevin, BHSc, MScOT Reg. (Ont.)

Alyssa is passionate about working with teens and pre-teens in acute mental health setting. She has years of experience volunteering with kids with chronic pain. She loves to work with kids of all ages in areas of mental health, self-regulation, pain management as well as fine and gross motor skills.

Megan de Cruz, BHSc, MScOT, OT Reg. (Ont.)

Megan is motivated and passionate about helping individuals of all ages participate in their meaningful occupations. Megan has experience working with children, youth, and adults. Her recent experiences include hospital, rehabilitation, and private practice settings

Michelle Seguin, Honours BSc BIM Neuroscience

Michelle is very excited to be joining the team as Administrative Assistant. She was born and raised in a small town South-East of Ottawa and is fluently bilingual in French and English. She is currently in her first year of a Master of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy at the University of Ottawa.
