Occupational Therapist
Holly completed her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto (UofT) and her undergraduate Honours degree in Child Studies with a minor in Health Psychology at Carleton University. She has 5+ years of experience working with children and youth with disabilities, across public and private settings and has a special interest in the area of neurodiversity-affirming practice. Holly has presented her work to date in this area to students at UofT and clinicians across the GTA and is looking forward to continuing her learning from autistic children, youth and adults.
Holly has additional experience in mental health, neuro rehab, and transitions coaching for pediatric clients transitioning into adult medical services. Holly is eager to begin her role with Expanding Horizons and places tremendous value on her therapeutic relationship with clients and families. She is committed to creating a space that cultivates each of her client’s strengths and passions and prioritizes self-efficacy, autonomy and agency in therapy and beyond! She is excited to add to her ‘OT toolbox’ and more specifically, expand upon her knowledge on feeding, self and emotional regulation, sensory processing and gross and fine motor skill development.
In her spare time, you can find Holly at the gym, enjoying time outdoors, listening to podcasts, trying new vegan recipes and visiting with her family, friends and rescue dog, Bob!
She has training and experience in areas of OT, such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy/Behavioural Activation Workshop
- Neurodiversity affirming service provision
- Solution-focused coaching
