Occupational Therapist
Denise obtained her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (Ergothérapie) from the University of Ottawa. Prior to this, she completed her Honours/Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics, also from the University of Ottawa. Denise is licensed by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and is a member in good standing with them.
Denise is a friendly, supportive, and attentive OT who strives to help her clients reach their goals, no matter how big or small. She has worked with a wide range of age groups in different practice areas, such as in private practice, the hospital and in community settings, to provide OT services to individuals with various medical conditions.
She has a special interest in working with Acquired Brain Injuries, including concussion, musculoskeletal / orthopedic injuries, as well as mental health in a return-to-work context.
Denise is motivated and enthusiastic about working in pediatrics, specifically with clients presenting with fine and or gross motor difficulties, learning disabilities, and sensory processing challenges.
In her spare time, Denise enjoys swimming and is involved in a wide variety of activities with her two young children.
Denise has training in various areas of OT including:
- Mental Health
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
- Post-Trauma Community Re-Integration
- Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE’s) and Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluations (Cog FCE’s)
- Return-to-work planning
